I hope you will find useful all the following blocks of information. 

Below you will find:

 

GAMES created in various free apps that can help you revise and gain confidence with some of the topics covered in the lessons.

 

TRABALENGUAS Tongue twisters to challenge your Spanish phonic skills to the maximum! 

 

TAPAS, which are short 5-8 min videos that will be shown during the week at school to increase your opportunities to practise and reinforce your language skills.

YEAR 4 - SPANISH LEARNING JOURNEY

YEAR 4 - TERM 1 - We are busy learning the following:  

 

VOCABULARY:

  • Items you can find in a classroom: door, window, chair, table, etc.
  • Itmes you can find in your school bag: pencil case, workbook, reading book, pen, etc.
  • The name of some school subjects
  • Expressions of opinion (positive and negative)

 

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A):

  • What is there in your classroom?
  • What is there in your school bag?
  • Do you like....?

 

GRAMMAR & PHONICS:

  • How to identify masculine and feminine nouns
  • How to form plural nouns
  • Extending sentences using connectives (and, also, but, etc)
  • Using the simple negative

 

INTERCULTURAL CONTENT:

  • Decorating a Christmas tree in Spanish

 

LANGUAGE LAERNING STRATEGIES:

  • Ten activities or techniques that you can use to learn vocabulary

YEAR 4 - TERM 2 - We are busy learning the following:  

 

VOCABULARY:

  • The name of some countries of the world
  • The name of various types of homes: a flat, a house, etc.
  • The name of some areas where people live in: in a town, in a village, by the coast, etc.
  • Words to describe flags: colours, stripes, shields, stars, etc.
  • The name of the various parts of a home

 

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A):

  • Where are you from?
  • Where do you live?
  • How is your flag?
  • How is your home?

 

GRAMMAR & PHONICS:

  • Using sentence builders to make sentences
  • Phonics: we have been trying saying tongue twisters in Spanish 
  • Forming plural nouns
  • Extending sentences using connectives (and, also, but, etc)
  • The verbs ser (to be), vivir (to live) and tener (to have) in the first, second and third persons.

 

INTERCULTURAL CONTENT:

  • Learning about traditional houses in Spain. 
  • Looking at and describing the flags of some Spanish speaking countries

 

LANGUAGE LAERNING STRATEGIES:

  • Using sentence builders to ensure accurate and easy to modify sentences
