Welcome to St Mary's Nursery

Learn. Grow. Achieve. Flourish.

Welcome to St Mary's Nursery

At St Mary's Nursery, we believe in empowering young minds during their Early Years to become confident learners, eager to explore and master new skills. Our school nursery is dedicated to providing accessible and enjoyable education that taps into children's innate curiosity, forming the foundation for an engaging curriculum.

The nursery caters for up to 52 children, spread over 2 sessions a day, with each child attending 15 hrs a week.

We are an experienced, skilled and committed team of staff made up of a qualified teacher, an early years practitioner and teaching assistants.

Our children embark on an enriching journey filled with diverse educational experiences both indoors and amidst our purpose-built, free-flowing facility. With it's own captivating outdoor garden and Forest School classroom, our nurturing environment fosters a love for learning through exploration and play.

We have, recently, adopted Chris Quigley's Curriculum Design to ensure we provide a well-sequenced and evidenced-based curriculum in our Early Years. Our curriculum is planned to equip the children with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed not only for the next stage of learning but for life. Our new forest school supports outdoor learning and experiences linked to the early years curriculum, mental well-being and beyond.

New ways of teaching

At St Mary's Nursery, our weekly forest school sessions, led by Mrs. Badyal, our dedicated Forest School Leader, cultivate a strong bond with nature and nurture confidence, resilience, and self-esteem in our Early Years children.

Our Forest School aims to build a nurturing outdoor community where children think freely, feel valued, and grow holistically. Guided by qualified practitioners, it fosters confidence and independence, offering safe challenges and enriching experiences in our woodland setting.
