Our rhyme of the week is: Hot Cross Buns. You can sing it with your child and use the video to support you: Hot Cross Buns | CoComelon Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs

This week (week beginning 23.3.2026) our story is Oliver's Vegetables. You can watch the story here with your child: Oliver's Vegetables

On Monday or Tuesday the children will be listening to the story for the first time and they will be talking about the story, trying to use sentences of 4 to 6 words long. Once they have talked about the story, they will talk about where they think vegetables come from.

On Wednesday we will listen to the story again and look at images of different vegetables. The children will think about what their favourite vegetable is, and they will draw an image of it in their book. They will then try to write a sound or short word that corresponds to their drawing.

On Thursday we will be recapping our learning from the half term. The children will be thinking about the stories we have read and which they have enjoyed and why. We will also be talking about our planting project that we have done with Mr Bradley and our beans that we have tried growing in the classroom. The children will be working on talking in full sentences.

The Nursery is shut on Friday 27th March.

To support your child's learning at home, please practice writing their name and read lots of stories together!
