Our rhyme of the week is: Hey Diddle Diddle  CBeebies: Something Special - Hey Diddle Diddle - Nursery Rhyme

We are continuing with our colourful semantics. This week our sentence is: The bear is yawning. 

On Monday the children will attempt to predict what will happen in the story. We will look at the cover and the children will say what they think will happen. Once we have listened to the story, we will say whether our predictions were correct. 

On Tuesday we will talk about what happens in the story. The children will try and recall what happens in the story, and once we have listened to the story again, we will recap key events. 

On Wednesday we will be working on making marks and saying what they mean. The children will attempt to draw an event that happens in the story and say what their marks mean. Staff will be supporting children in using the correct pencil grip. 

On Friday the children will be recognising and writing their own names. This is a weekly activity that we will do until the children are able to write their names independently. We will support them with pencil grip and letter formation. 

Please support your child at home by talking about our learning. Your child also needs to be able to recognise their name – please work on this with them.
