This week (week beginning 4.5.2026) our book is 'Where the Forest meets the Sea'. You can watch it with your child by following the link: Where the forest meets the sea - READ ALOUD - Jeannie Baker

Monday is a bank holiday and school is closed.

On Tuesday we will look at our new story and talk about how the environment changes throughout the story. We will talk about why the environment changes.

On Wednesday we will listen to the story again and then look at the story setting to draw in our books. Miss Allan will model drawing a forest and writing the 'f' sound to correspond. The children will then draw a setting in the story and write at least one letter to correspond.

On Thursday we will be looking at name writing. For those children who still need to learn to write their names, they will be practising weekly with staff.

Finally on Friday with Mrs Chatterjee the children will be singing our rhyme of the week, There's a worm the bottom of my garden. They will be listening to the song, then they will have a go at singing the song.

To support your child's learning at home, please practice writing their name and read lots of stories together!
