This week (week beginning 6.7.2026) our story is Topsy and Tim Start School. You can watch it here with your child: Topsy and Tim Start School 

On Monday the children will use extended sentences to discuss what happens in the story.  

On Tuesday we will talk about our feelings moving on to Reception. The children will think about how they feel and staff will support the conversation. 

On Wednesday we will be doing our mark making and working on writing recognisable letters. The children will be drawing pictures of something they are excited for for Reception and writing sounds to match their drawing. 

On Thursday we will be looking at name writing. For those children who still need to learn to write their names, they will be practising weekly with staff. 

Finally on Friday with Mrs Chatterjee the children will think about the rhymes that we have sung this half tern and sing their favourites. 

To support your child's learning at home, please practice writing their name and read lots of stories together! They will also benefit from writing some letters if they draw images at home.
