This week (week beginning 15.6.2026) our book is 'Under the Sea'. This is a non-fiction book. 

On Monday the children will listen to some of the information in the book and identify key features of a non-fiction book. We will talk about the contents page, index page and glossary. 

On Tuesday we will continue looking at the information in the book and recap the key features of a non-fiction text. The children will then talk about facts that they have learnt about underwater creatures, attempting to use extended sentences of 4-6 words. 

On Wednesday we will be having a teddy bears picnic to link to our learning from the last two week. 

On Thursday we will be looking at name writing. For those children who still need to learn to write their names, they will be practising weekly with staff. 

Finally on Friday with Mrs Chatterjee the children will sing A Sailor went to Sea and doing actions to match. 

To support your child's learning at home, please practice writing their name and read lots of stories together! They will also benefit from writing some letters if they draw images at home.
