Safeguarding for Visitors

To support the school with its safety obligations, we ask that all visitors comply with our safeguarding procedures.

Receiving Visitors

All visitors must report to the school office before coming on to our school site. We receive many different types of visitors, please check what you need to do to gain access to the school.  Please note all visitors are required to sign in.

1. One off Visits: If you are visiting a staff member or visiting the site when children are not present, we will not ask for a DBS.  We may ask to check your work identity.

2. A service provider: Local Authority, Oxford Diocese, Social Care, Police, Health and Educational Professionals

  • The advice from the local authority is that you do not need to present a DBS as your role means a DBS is necessary.  Please do not be offended if the receptionist asks for evidence.
  • You must be booked in prior so staff are aware of your attendance.
  • Please show ID of your role (e.g. work lanyard) and name the person you are meeting.
  • We will ask you to sign in so we can monitor who is on site.
  • You will be provided with a red visitors lanyard once signed in.
  • A school staff member will provide entry.
  • You may wait until the staff member arrives to escort you to your destination.

3. A regular organisation or club provider:

  • All these members must provide evidence of a DBS check before they can work with children.
  • We will ask you to sign in so we can monitor who is on site.
  • You will be provided with a red visitors lanyard once signed in.
  • A school staff member will provide entry.
  • You must ask a staff member to give access if you are going beyond the first building.  Please head directly to your destination area.

4. Regular Workers/Volunteers: Governors, Paid and Unpaid Staff

  • All these members must have a DBS check before they can work with children.  The school will pay for this prior to the agreed start date.
  • Staff (including volunteers) will be provided with a green Lanyard with staff written clearly.
  • Governors will receive a black lanyard with governors written clearly.
  • Your lanyard will give you access throughout the school.

As we are not a public building, the school reserves the right to refuse entry.
