Writing

Welcome to day 5 of our investigation into the Mystery of Eilean Mor - and today we remain in full detective mode!

Today, part of your task is to read a telegram sent in relation to the events on Flannan Island. You need to ensure that you read it carefully and look for the meanings in what is being said.

Your first task is to put together a timeline of events that show what happened on the 26th December, 1990 - the day the Hesperus arrived at the island. Watch the lesson and pause to note down any significant clues, dates, names and details that you think will help us to solve the mystery.

The second task is for you to start to sift through what is fact and what is opinion; again using the telegram that you used to construct the timeline.

Turn your book so you can draw the timeline in a landscape orientation - and use the full  length of the page. Draw both the timeline and the table neatly with a ruler.  You know the standards of presentation the Year 6 staff will accept - and also the standards of written work.

Enjoy your task!
