Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Fairy Tales - Full Story

For your Reading today, you will be listening to a very well known fairytale to help you develop your summarising skills.

Questions/Activity:

  1. Order the events of the story from the beginning to the end. 
     

Green: Write and sort the events/sentences below in order from Beginning (1) to end (4).

Remember they are jumbled and not in order.

  • She went inside the house and ate porridge, sat on the chairs and slept in the beds.
  • Once upon a time lived a girl called Goldilocks who lived with her mum.
  • Goldilocks went for a walk into the woods and saw a house.
  • The bears came home and Goldilocks got scared and ran all the way home.

 

Yellow: Use the jumbled events and put these into the correct order of how the story is told. Write it out neatly in your book.

  • Once upon a time lived a young girl called Goldilocks.
  • Goldilocks wakes up frightened, jumps from the bed and runs straight out the front door.
  • Then she went and sat in the chairs and slept in the beds.
  • She found a cottage which was empty and entered.
  • As they arrived home, they discovered what Goldilocks had done to their porridge, chairs and beds.
  • She helped herself to some porridge on the table.
  • Goldilocks went for a walk in the forest and became lost. 
  • Meanwhile, the bears who lived in the house were on their way back.
