Remember you can re-watch the video again if you are unable to remember what happens

You must submit your Reading task by email, to your class teacher by 12.30pm.

Throughout the week you have been developing your skill of summarising a text.
Today's activities will allow your teacher to see how well you have understood the story and if you are able to summarise the key information in a text/story.

Green: Write a simple summary of what happens in the story.

Here is an example from Little Red Riding Hood:

  • Beginning - There lived a young girl called Little Red Riding Hood and she lived with her mother in a cottage near the woods.
  • Middle - She went to visit her sick Grandmother and went through the woods.
When she went through the forest she met a big, bad wolf.
  • End - The wolf pretended to be Grandmother and gobbled up Little Red Riding Hood. Finally, a Woodsman came and rescued Grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood.

Remember to ONLY write the KEY INFORMATION and not any detail.

Now it is your turn. You will be writing a summary about Jack and the Beanstalk.
