Summer term expectations. 


Each week please complete the following homework activities:

  • 5 minutes a day on TTRS.
  • Complete any mathletics tasks set.
  • Complete 20 minutes, 3 times a week on Reading Eggs (maps).
  • 20 minutes reading, 5 times a week with a written comment each time. 


Any other activities will be added here each week.

Year 4 teachers

28th May 2021 - Half Term

After the holiday, the children will be tested on their times table facts. Please spend some time on TTRS to help improve the fluency and accuracy of their recall. 


We will be completing our coding unit of work in summer 2. Refamiliarise yourself with coding by completing some of these activities on Purple Mash.


Enjoy the outdoors this holiday - the weather is going to be improving. Can you see the water cycle in action? Make a puddle of water on the floor and watch it evaporate.

Be prepared for an amazing and action packed last 6 weeks of Year 4.

This week we have been learning about the water cycle. Check out Twitter for pictures of our water cycle in a bag experiment. 


Complete the 2Do on Purple Mash to explain the different stages of the water cycle. It will help with your English work for next week too. 


Enjoy some of these fund activities about solids, liquids and gases. 

Don't forget to send pictures to your class email account.

Use this website to investigate equivalent fractions. 

Investigate unit fraction and non-unit fractions. 

Can you see any patterns? What do you notice?

This week we have been practising our research and note taking skills. 

Next week we are learning about volcanoes. Can you make notes about a famous volcano fro around the world? You could present your information using PowerPoint or as a poster.
