Today you will be looking at what we need to include in a set of instructions. By the end of this week, you will be writing your own instructions so you need to listen carefully to what we need to include.

 

LO: To identify features of instructions.

  1. Watch the video linked below
  2. Write todays date (Monday 11th January 2021) and underline.
  3. Write down todays (LO: To identify features of instructions) and underline.
  4. All of you should complete the tasks in the video in your home learning book.
    Most of you should read the ‘example instructions’ attached below. Find the part of the text that matches the feature. E.g. Time adverbs- First, after, finally.

You can circle the different features using different colours for each feature if you chose to print it off.
Title - Red
Introduction-Orange
Sub headings (You will need / Method)- Yellow
Imperatives: Place / Stir/ Mix)- Green
Time adverbs (Firstly, After, Finally)- Blue
Adverbs (carefully, thoroughly, delicately)-Pink
Pictures / diagrams- Purple


Challenge: Think of your own verbs and make a word bank that you can use later this week.
