Good morning Year 6! Welcome to the first day of research in preparation for writing our own
non-chronological reports.
Yesterday, you made a comparison of two non-chronological reports, focusing on how they key features were represented in each report and whether they made one report more engaging than the other.
1. You will watch a lesson focusing on how to make notes and gather information. There is so
much information available that you must take the time to ensure that you are choosing the
most relevant.
2. The subject of the report in the lesson is NOT what you will be gathering information on.
Remember that the process of carrying out research and writing a report is the same - the
subject is irrelevant.
3. Take any notes you feel relevant while watching the lesson.
4. Open the Non-Chronological Reports task - to reveal the subject of your report!
Remember that your writing should be of a good Year 6 standard - both in quality and quantity
