Book week arrives at St Mary’s from Monday 2nd March till Friday 6th March! During the week, we have many exciting, book related events happening that we are sure will inspire your children to be passionate readers, with a desire to cuddle up to a cosy book! We are running a number of book themed competitions, which our school librarians will be judging-along with a little adult help.
Competitions to participate in at home:
Nursery/Reception – design a badge competition, with a picture of their favourite book character!
Year 1 & year 2 – design a book mark competition!
Year 3-year 6- design a fantasy setting competition (paper or 3D model).
Competitions to participate in at school:
Book corner competition-each class in KS1 and KS2 is working with their class teachers to create a welcoming and adventurous book corner that encourages children to browse and borrow from our well-stocked book shelves!
Class door competition- each class in KS1 and KS2 is working with their class teachers to create a superb entrance to their classroom that invites and beckons visitors to a fantastical voyage of adventure, via the world of books!
World Book Day dressing up competition-on Thursday 5th March, all the children are invited to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character!
